Servicing and repairs
A routine home service costs around £200 to £300. A replacement inverter typically costs £1,200 to £2,000 fitted, whoever installed the system.

DB Energy cleans, services, repairs and bird-proofs solar panels in Nottingham, on homes, rented houses, and commercial and farm roofs, including systems we did not install. We are MCS certified, based in Warrington, take servicing work across the UK, and reply to every enquiry within two working days.
We take work across Nottingham and the farms and business parks around it. We are based in Warrington, not the East Midlands, and we don't have a local office. Each visit is planned around the job, so we ask what the system is and how the roof is reached first.
WhatsApp us a photo of the panels or call 0800 772 3611. If you manage several houses, send us the list.
Mostly houses, each with its own roof. At the 2021 Census the East Midlands had the lowest share of households living in flats of any English region, 11.4%. So most panels around Nottingham are on a house's own roof, and the owner can decide on a service or a clean without asking a freeholder or managing agent. Birds nesting under the panels are the most common genuine reason a home array needs cleaning, and bird proofing stops them coming back.
A lot of rented homes. Nottingham City Council's selective licensing scheme covers an estimated 30,000 privately rented homes across most of the city. If you let a house with panels on it, we deal with you or your letting agent directly, and a routine home service costs around £200 to £300.

Farm dust outside the city. On barn and farm roofs around Nottingham, ploughing, harvest and grain drying put dust on the panels that rain doesn't always clear. So farm arrays usually sit at the top of the once or twice a year we recommend, and our farms page explains why.
Cleaner or solar company? A window cleaner with purified water and a soft brush can rinse a clean, reachable array. They can't tell you why generation has dropped, test the wiring or replace an inverter. We do both, the clean and the electrical check, and we hold the electrical accreditations and sign off the work. We never use pressure washers, which can force water past the panel seals.

Purified water and soft brushes, from the ground where the roof allows. Only where it pays, and we say so when it doesn't.

Mesh around the array to keep pigeons out from underneath. A typical home costs £400 to £800.

Planned maintenance for barns, units and warehouses, with access planned around deliveries, livestock or production.
Nottingham's local electricity network is run by National Grid Electricity Distribution, in its East Midlands area, which serves about 2.7 million customers and has an engineering depot in Nottingham. They own the wires and are not your energy supplier.
Cleaning and bird proofing don't involve them. Some repairs can, such as changing an inverter or adding a battery, and we deal with them for you as part of the job.

DB Energy does both, for homes, landlords, businesses and farms in Nottingham, including systems another company installed. We are MCS certified (NIC-601172), and a RECC member (00075024), based in Warrington, and we reply to every enquiry within two working days.
If the panels just need a rinse and can be reached safely, a cleaner using purified water and a soft brush is fine. If generation has dropped, an error light is on, or birds are getting underneath, you need someone who can test the system electrically as well, and that is electrical work, not cleaning.
Yes. We deal with landlords and letting agents directly and are happy to look at several properties together. A routine home service costs around £200 to £300. We tell you what we find before any work starts.
National Grid Electricity Distribution, through its East Midlands network. You only need to deal with them for certain work, such as changing an inverter or adding a battery, and we handle that for you.
Droppings, pigeons, an error light or a drop in generation: tell us what you are seeing and we will tell you what it needs, roughly what it costs, and whether it is worth doing at all.
