For your home

Solar panels and batteries, designed from your electricity bill rather than picked from a menu. A battery works with panels or on its own. Send us a bill and a roof photo, and we will tell you what your house could do, and what it would cost.

For your business or farm

Commercial solar and battery storage for warehouses, factories, offices, farms and clubs, designed from your consumption data. Bought outright, or paid for in other ways where your site qualifies, whichever your numbers support.

Already got solar panels?

Add a battery to the panels you already have, usually in a day. We also service, repair, clean and bird-proof solar systems, including ones we did not install. No array too small.

The thing most people don't know about batteries

If you already have panels but no battery, you can add one, usually in a day, without touching the panels. It keeps what your panels make at midday for the evening, when you would otherwise be buying electricity back. In winter, when there is little sun to store, it can fill up overnight on a cheap rate instead.

No panels at all? A battery can still work on its own, charging overnight on a cheap rate and running the house through the day.

It does not need new panels. It works with what is already on your roof.

Why people choose us

We start with your bill, not your roof

Two identical houses can need completely different systems. We design from how you actually use electricity, which is also why we will not quote savings until we have done the sums for your house, in writing. Our trade body requires that. We would do it anyway.

We take the jobs the big firms won't

Some national maintenance contractors will not quote below a couple of hundred panels. The pub with forty panels, the farm with one barn roof, the house whose installer went bust years ago: that is our bread and butter. If you have solar and it needs looking at, we would rather come and look at it.

We tell you when the answer is no

No to a battery bigger than you need. No to cleaning panels the rain is already cleaning. No to solar on a roof that is wrong for it. Saying no costs us sales and wins us the customers we actually want.

Quick questions

Do you cover my area?

For homes, we cover the North West, including Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire: we cover the whole region, and homes up to around 100 miles beyond it, roughly two hours on the road. For commercial, agricultural and servicing work we travel across the UK. If you are not sure, ring us and we will tell you straight away rather than sending someone on a wasted trip.

Are you MCS certified?

Yes. DB Energy is MCS certified and a member of RECC. MCS certification also matters practically, because it is normally required for your system to qualify for the Smart Export Guarantee.

How much do solar panels cost?

For a typical home, expect somewhere in the region of £5,995 to £8,995 installed, with a battery,, depending on system size, roof access and whether you add a battery. The Energy Saving Trust puts a typical 4.5kWp domestic system at around £7,600. We give fixed quotes after a survey, with no obligation.

Do you work with businesses as well as homes?

Both. Roughly half of our work is commercial, covering warehouses, factories, offices, farms and industrial units. For businesses we install solar and battery storage, and we compare the ways to pay for your site in writing.

Do you maintain systems you didn't install?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. It makes no difference to us who fitted your panels or whether that company is still trading.

How quickly can you get someone out?

You will have a full quote within two working days. For a fault on a commercial site under a maintenance agreement, we aim to be on site within 48 hours.

Get a straight answer

Whatever your question, send it over with a photo if you have one: your roof, your inverter, your bill, the birds under your panels. We reply to every enquiry within two working days, and if the answer is "leave it alone", that is the answer you will get.
